BITHYNIA, Nicaea. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (32mm, 19.36 g, 6h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust left, holding spear and shield decorated with aegis; c/m's: laureate head right within oval incuse, uncertain design within oval incuse / Boule standing right, facing Demos standing left, each holding scepter and supporting shield between them; BOV/ΛE and ΔH/MOC between figures, OMONOIA in exergue. RG 710, pl. LXXXV, 3 (same dies); Weiser –; for discernible c/m: Howgego 65. VF, dark brown patina. Rare.
